Easy Fridays 011: Slow Ride by Foghat

FoghatThis week’s Easy Friday’s episode features one of my all-time favorites.

I remember the first time I heard this song, I was still young and stupid that I don’t even know the title and the artist! However, I continue to hum along and do the slow headbanging motions.

It’s chill . . . It’s from rock n’ roll’s glory days — an era when people love rock more than pop music (not that I have a big grudge against pop, but one does feel like most modern pop songs sounds awfully alike in some way). Anyway, Foghat might not be as big as The Rolling Stones or David Bowie in the 70’s, but they made an impression (at least to me) that will last throughout my shortening lifetime. Easy Friday 010: Arrested Development’s People Everyday

People Everyday Arrested DevelopmentAs my fingers danced across the keyboard, composing this post, the welcome silence that I’ve been craving for months has finally arrived. In observance of the holy week that leads to Easter Sunday, everyone’s expected to be quiet and repentant, at least in an environment dominated by religious Catholics.

It’s been several weeks of not posting anything for this segment and I blame my uninspired mind to come out with a soundtrack to the weekend worth mentioning. But, alas! I’ve got my groove on this week and it’s heralded by the season of sweating and bad hair days — Summer Continue reading Easy Fridays 009: Summertime by Sublime

Yep. . . The first quarter of the year just flew by and I just realized that I’m still trying to finish the bulk of one of my major projects this year.

March 2014 playlist

With the help of the following tracks listed below, I’ve maintained a semi-sane and inspired demeanor as I plow my way through the development of said projects. All in all, I’m glad. So glad that I’m seeing progress despite the time constraints and other spur-of-the-moment activities.  Continue reading MY PLAYLIST: Top Ten Tracks for March 2014

MY PLAYLIST: Top Ten Tracks for February 2014

Gosh! It’s already been two months since the eardrum-crackin‘ fireworks, blasted fingers and toes, various bleeding body parts in emergency rooms and other New Year celebratory shenanigans!

Time really passes by so fast when you’re doing a lot of things left and right. I think 2014 is my busiest year so far (if I’m going to base the level of “busy” on the past couple of weeks). But — busy or not — no one can take me away from my #1 source of inspiration. And that is music — good music.

This month’s playlist is a bit cavity-inducing sweet as all get out because it’s the month of love [*choke and gag]. However, the tracks listed down may have a touch of whimsy, but they’re in no way gag-inducing. In fact, they’re a mix of both old and new tracks that are abso-f*ckin-lutely too COOL for school.

Here they are . . .
